Aurélie Adam Soulé

Minister of Digital Economy, Bénin @ MINISTRE, ÉCONOMIE NUMÉRIQUE, BÉNIN

Aurelie Adam Soulé is a confirmed professional in the digital sector. A Telecom & ICT Engineer from Télécom Sud Paris, she also holds a Certificate in Public Policy Management and Leadership from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University (New York).

Winner of the Mandela Washington Young African Leaders Programme (MWF YALI) 2015, she has left her mark on several internationally renowned companies, including the renowned consulting firm ACCENTURE, the World Mobile Sector Association (GSMA) and the Autorité de Régulation des Communications Electroniques et de la Poste (ARCEP-BENIN).

In October 2017, she was awarded the portfolio of the Ministry of the Digital Economy and Communication. Since then, she has been contributing her expertise alongside the President of the Republic of Benin, His Excellency Patrice Talon, whose vision is to make Benin the digital services platform of West Africa.

In this role, her actions committed to young people and women are noticed and appreciated. Since May 2018, the Benin Start-Up Week Label has been created to draw the attention of national and international players to the Start-ups in the digital sector and the many innovations they are generating in Benin.

The minister is particularly interested in digital uses applied to the education, health and agriculture sectors. For this reason, since August 2017, she has been preparing a doctorate in Information and Communication Sciences on the theme “Analysis of policies for the expansion of telecommunication networks and ICT services in rural areas in Africa” at the Ecole Doctorale Montaigne – Humanities of the University Bordeaux Montaigne in France.
